Fewer Jobs, Fewer Sliders: ObamaCare’s Impact on White Castle

As we struggle with 11 percent unemployment, stories like the one from Ohio-based White Castle illustrate how ObamaCare is hurting local employers at exactly the wrong time.

The blogger behind Third Base Politics highlights analysis revealing the devastating impact the government takeover of health care backed by Ohio Democrats will have on White Castle, despite the generous benefits and health care coverage provided to employees. One provision in particular would cut White Castle’s net income in half, shelving plans to expand and hire new workers:

“Effectively cutting our net income in half would have devastating impact on the business – cutting future expansion and more job creation at least in half. Sadly, it makes it difficult to justify growing where jobs are needed most – in lower income areas.”

Read the whole thing. ObamaCare’s costs will hit all of us sooner or later, whether it’s in the form of higher premiums, higher taxes, fewer jobs, or a lower quality of care. CNN reported this week that analysis by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) “doubled the estimated increases of some costs resulting from the sweeping health care” law.

No wonder “[f]ifty-seven percent (57%) of voters in Ohio favor repeal” of the president’s health care law.

There are efforts “underway in 33 states” – including Ohio – to block the unconstitutional, jobs-killing mandates imposed by ObamaCare. And Congressman Boehner is committed to repealing ObamaCare and replacing it with common-sense reforms that will actually lower costs for families and small businesses.
