Congressman Boehner appeared on Fox News last night to discuss recent reports that have up-turned claims used by Democrats to sell their government takeover of health care. For example, this week the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) said ObamaCare will almost certainly cost much more than advertised. But that’s not all. Watch Boehner here:
BOEHNER: “I’m not at all surprised. And it’s not just the $115 billion that the Congressional Budget Office says this bill is going to cost more than what the president said it was. It’s also the Secretary of Health and Human Services own actuaries of Medicare and Medicaid who say people’s health insurance premiums are going up and other quality of medicine is going down. All the things that the president promised for a year leading up to the passage of this health care bill are turning out to not be true. He’s the one who said we need do this to save the budget, that it won’t cost people more, and it will increase the quality of health care. And we get his own administration now admitting that’s not really true.”
Here are some of the recent reports to which Boehner’s referring:
>> CBO FINDS OBAMACARE WILL COST MORE THAN ADVERTISED: The Associated Press reported that analysis by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) found “President Barack Obama’s new health care law could potentially add another $115 billion over 10 years to government health care spending.” CNN says the CBO “doubled the estimated increases of some costs resulting from” ObamaCare.
>> CMS SAYS OBAMACARE WILL INCREASE HEALTH CARE COSTS: The Columbus Dispatch reported that, according to the Department of Health & Human Services, “far from reducing the cost of health care, the overhaul will add $311 billion to the nation’s health-care costs over the first decade the law is in effect.” The Dispatch says “This should be no surprise, considering that the law was slapped together behind closed doors…”
>> CRS QUESTIONS OBAMACARE’S CONSTITUTIONALITY: The Daily Caller reported that the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service (CRS) believes the Democrats’ government takeover of health care “may be unconstitutional under Supreme Court precedents on federalism” because it imposes federal fines and penalties on state governments – including states like Ohio who face tremendous unfunded mandates under the law.
>> WORKERS COULD FIND THEMSELVES WITH LOWER QUALITY CARE: Fortune found that several major employers, unable to afford ObamaCare’s costly rules and regulations, have considered dropping employee health coverage altogether, sending workers into lower-quality government-run care. A previous Dispatch article argued that ObamaCare “would guarantee that Americans pay more to get less health care.”
>> OBAMACARE COULD LEAD TO FEWER JOBS, NOT MORE: Employers across the country, including local Ohio-based White Castle, are taking a big hit under ObamaCare and may be forced to scale back plans to expand and hire new workers.
No wonder “[f]ifty-seven percent (57%) of voters in Ohio favor repeal” of the Democrats’ government takeover. Congressman Boehner is committed to repealing ObamaCare and replacing it with common-sense reforms that will actually lower costs for families and small businesses.

Cut the crap. War of words isn’t productive. If you were my representative I’d remind you of who you work for. If you don’t start representing the constituents of this great country instead of the political clout with big bucks we wouldn’t have to see grown men acting like god damned spoiled kids. Get to work on wall street reform, health care, social security, and political engagement and foreign development and aid abroad. Get your priorities straight representative!
We are retired and Jerry has major health problems. We have never supported Obama or his health care. We also have no money to help with your efforts. Most of my time goes to care for Jerry, but I will encourage family and friends to support your effort. I saw that Andy Griffith supports Obama Care he is a mindless old man, and only doing it for money. Not thinking how it will hurt all people, even His younger relatives.
