Congressman Boehner today met with Tyeis Baker-Baumann of Rebsco, Inc. to discuss the recently-passed government takeover of health care. Located in Greenville, Rebesco faces more fines, more mandates, and more paperwork under ObamaCare – but not lower health care costs. The Daily Advocate report quotes Baker-Baumann:
“We are concerned that this law will only make it more difficult for the millions of small businesses, like mine, that currently are struggling to provide health insurance for their employees in the face of annual unsustainable premium increases. Every report I’ve seen says that this law will cause an increase in costs. And the highly-touted tax credit is so complex that determining whether or not your business qualifies for some portion of the credit will probably require hiring outside expertise that will cost more money. That is precisely the opposite of what small businesses like mine need.”
According to the Advocate, Baker-Baumann told Boehner that the Democrats’ bill “will devastate businesses in Ohio like Rebsco.”
The Associated Press happened to write about one of the very issues highlighted by Baker-Baumann. The president said his bill would help small businesses cope with the health care takeover’s many costs and mandates – but a small businessman told AP “he’d have to cut his work force to 10 employees and slash their wages” in order to qualify for the relief.
No wonder “[f]ifty-seven percent (57%) of voters in Ohio favor repeal” of the Democrats’ government takeover. Congressman Boehner is committed to repealing ObamaCare and replacing it with common-sense reforms that will actually lower costs for families and small businesses.
