Boehner: The President’s Economic Policies Are Making Things Worse
In an interview with Brian Thomas on Cincinnati’s 55KRC Morning Show yesterday, Congressman Boehner offered his reaction to President Obama’s State of the Union message and made clear that November will be a referendum on the president’s failed jobs policies. Below are key excerpts from the interview:
>> Boehner Says November’s Election will be a Referendum on President Obama’s Disastrous Agenda of Higher Taxes, Reckless Spending and Needless Red Tape: “This election this year is going to be a referendum on the president’s economic policies. They not only have not helped the economy grow, I would argue they’ve made it worse. Unemployment has been above eight percent for 35 straight months. Gas prices have doubled since the president took office. The national debt is now $15.2 trillion. And what we heard last night was more taxes, more spending and more need for government.”
>> Boehner Says American People Don’t Buy Into President Obama’s Vision of a Bigger Government: “I think we have more government than the American people ever dreamed we would have. More government is expensive. Most people would rather keep more of what they earn so that they can take care of themselves and their family and their own community. But that’s not how the president sees it. Remember this is the organizer-in-chief; he believes in the Nanny state.”
>> Boehner Notes ObamaCare was not Mentioned in State of the Union – Highlights New Survey Showing its Job-Crushing Effects: “If we’re serious about creating jobs, we need to stop the regulatory onslaught that we have underway here in Washington that’s preventing employers from hiring new people. Last week the United States Chamber of Commerce came out with a survey out of the field from their members. [Seventy]-four percent of their members said ObamaCare was getting in the way of them hiring more people.“
>> Boehner Urges President Obama to Stop Campaigning, Scrap the Failed Jobs Policies & Work with Republicans to Help Small Businesses Create Jobs: “The president’s got some responsibility to come to the table. He’s been out campaigning since Labor Day. Four straight months of no governing. The President really could help. We’ve got 30 House-passed jobs bills sitting over in the United States Senate…”
